Luffing

Luffing cranes are used to construct all types of buildings and are suitable for use in areas characterized by dense urban construction. These cranes have two arms: a front arm with a lifting radius of up to approximately 4 meters and a short rear one with a radius of approximately 8 meters. Luffing cranes are operated independently of one another, and several of them can be positioned simultaneously on the same building, thereby shortening the construction time.

FAQ

What is the difference between a tower crane and a luffing crane?
In a tower crane, the boom and trolley move horizontally only. In a luffing crane, the load is moved by changing the angle of the boom. The front arm moves up and down, allowing for a limited lifting radius of up to 4 meters and a short rear arm of up to 8 meters. The advantage is that there is no overhang beyond the site boundaries and no risk to passersby, even in projects in densely urban areas. Another advantage is the possibility of using numerous cranes on the site. Placing 3-5 lapping cranes on top of a single building at the same time (every 10 meters) can significantly streamline and shorten the project time.
Which cranes are suitable for use in densely populated urban construction areas like urban renewal?
The luffing crane is particularly suitable for use in areas characterized by dense urban construction, as the crane's boom does not extend beyond the site and does not pose a danger to the surrounding area. The method of tilting the arm up and down allows many cranes to be used in a limited area, providing the advantage of saving time and enabling simultaneous construction.
What types of tower cranes are available in the Skyline fleet, and what are they used for?
The types of cranes in the Skyline fleet include spire tower cranes, topless cranes, luffing cranes, derrick cranes, and giant cranes for unique projects that require exceptional lifting capabilities. Each type of crane is adapted to different terrain conditions, varying working heights, diverse lifting weights, and different levels of construction site density.
