Topless or flat-top cranes got their names from their structure, which lacks the traditional crane head (also known as spike). This allows for broad overlap between the crane arms, flexibility in planning and positioning, and efficient work on sites with multiple cranes.
A topless crane allows for a minimum height difference (approximately 5 meters) between the crane hook and its head, as well as shortening the crane arms to a length of 20 meters. In a working environment where cranes overlap, this is an enormous advantage, making working with multiple cranes in the work area possible and efficient.
